| You may find it convenient to boil and simmer some of these products a few days in advance of making any given recipe. They keep very well when refrigerated and can then be added to the recipe ingredients later. |
| Peas and lentils do not need to be pre-soaked before cookng. Garbanzos (chickpeas), wheat and barley,( when using the product un-milled) are usually pre-soaked 6 or 8 hrs. before boiling to shorten cooking time. We recommend rinsing all the whole grains and legumes before using. Palouse Prairie Wholesome Grains suggest storing these products in a cool,dry environment. |
