 Whole wheat berries: Can be cooked in slow cooker all night.  Use 1 part wheat berries to 3 parts salted water.   Can also be soaked over night,then boiled in water until tender, about a hour.
 Cracked Wheat: Simmer 1 part wheat to 2 parts water, about 40 minutes.
 Pearled Barley: Boil in plenty of salted water or simmer 1 part barley to 2 parts salted water, 45min.
